Schola/Music

The Schola/Music programs are currently being directed by Marc DeMille.

The St. John's Schola seeks to enhance the Divine Liturgy by drawing on the Church's vast store of musical treasures, with a particular focus on Chant, Renaissance Polyphony and traditional Hymnody.  Singing at the 10:30 a.m. Mass on the first, third and fifth (if applicable) Sundays of each month, the group rehearses in the choir loft on Wednesday evenings from 7-8:30 p.m. and meets thirty minutes prior to Mass.  New members are always welcome.  Please contact Marc DeMille at 978-368-0366 x213 for more information.

Ave Maria: A Concert of Music to the Blessed Mother

Sunday, June 25th at 3pm

With Bishop McManus recently consecrating our diocese to the Blessed Virgin Mary, it is entirely fitting that we celebrate with music in honor of Her.  Your opportunity to do so will take place on Sunday, June 25th at 3pm, as we welcome back the professional Schola Cantorum of St. John's Church in Worcester, as part of our Sacred Music Series.  The program will feature beautiful Marian choral music, including several settings of the beloved Ave Maria text.  The concert is free, approximately one hour long, and families are welcome.  Donations will be accepted at the door to benefit the performers and the parish.  Please see music director Marc DeMille for more information.
